Carey, a former high fashion model, who measures at nearly 5'10", was popular with American fashion designers such as Calvin Klein and Ralph Lauren. Her father, an accomplished scientist who won the Rocky Mountain Association of Geologists 1979 Scientist of the Year award is a renowned geologist. Carey has lived throughout the world because of his work. When she was a student at an institution called the University of Colorado, Carey started modeling for a side. An agent from Ford's model agency located in New York noticed her and asked for help. The year was 1980 when she emigrated to France where she briefly resided in Paris as well as Bordeaux and then returned in New York in order to continue her modeling career. Her work was showcased on Vogue and Glamour cover. While modeling and continued to pursue her studies full-time for a literature major within New York University. When she arrived in New York she began to pursue acting. She made her acting debut through a tiny character in 'Club Pardise' in 1986 with Robin Williams. When she is not working she loves skiing or windsurfing. She also enjoys climbing mountains and whitewater river rafting.
